She recently had a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo and a special solo exhibition hosted by the Dominican Ministry of Culture in 2025.
Artistic Vision
Working primarily with a palette knife, Cepeda creates compositions distinguished by radiant color, textured surfaces, and remarkable luminosity. Her paintings celebrate the reflections of Laguna Gri-Grí, the tropical vegetation of the North Coast, the movement of light through trees, and the enduring beauty of the Dominican environment. What makes her work particularly appealing is its ability to evoke feelings of peace, optimism, and well-being. Bright skies, shimmering waters, flowering landscapes, and sunlit villages become visual expressions of joy and harmony. Her paintings invite viewers into places of serenity, memory, and emotional renewal.
Legacy
Today, Carolina Cepeda’s work remains highly regarded for its ability to transform interior spaces through color, light, and a distinctly Caribbean sense of place.
